About Me

I am currently working as an editorial intern at the Freedom of the Press Foundation, where I specifically work with the U.S Press Freedom Tracker team to track and monitor instances of press aggressions across the U.S and put them in context.

Last fall, I covered homelessness, health and higher education for the Columbia Missourian. While in this position, I pitched and developed my own enterprise and daily stories, such as my reporting on the Veterans Clinic at the University of Missouri Law School.

I also covered city and county government for the Missourian, working on a variety of stories about issues that affected local residents, such as electric rate increases, marijuana tax irregularities,  and 11-year effort to change the city's trash and recycling system.

In April 2023, I covered the eviction of unhoused residents at one of Columbia's largest homeless encampments. The story was part of the "Show Me Shelter" series at the Missourian, which won Best News or Feature series at the 2023 Missouri Press Association Awards.

I am passionate about reporting on politics, democracy and the law, and will continue reporting on these areas throughout my time as an intern at the Freedom of the Press Foundation.
